Welcome

I am happy to be writing my first blog post for my new website! And I just realized it is Christmas Eve. I was sick the past couple of days so I slept a lot and didn’t really think much about what day it is. So glad I am feeling better at least enough to sit at the computer. So, this first post I am going to talk about two things that I have been inspired by recently.

First, I recently took a two-day seminar called “30 Ways to Shine”, taught by author and teacher Chaz Austin. I really didn’t think too much about what to expect, I knew it would be about resumes and job searching but Chaz had some good insights into self-employment and new ways to generate income. It was a nice class and met some talented people from a variety of backgrounds. It prompted me to create a website for self-promotion and in a couple of days, tah-dah. Obviously if you are here reading this you have found me, thank you for your interest!

Dolce & Gabbana Womens S/S 2018

Second, I have discovered designer runway shows posted on You Tube. I love fashion of all kinds. I can’t sew worth a darn, but if I could, I might have a fashion line. I especially like the Dolce & Gabbana Womens Spring/Summer 2018 line. I love the silouettes, colorways, prints (love florals), accessories, lots of sparkles and their overall theme of playing cards in the suit of hearts which reminded me of my Royale design. Now I feel inspired to re-visit the design and add some more coordinating designs. Back to D&G. I wish I could see some of the pieces up close as I am sure there are some really unique design elements and fabrics that get overlooked in such a brief viewing on the runway. I was able to see some items on the website and yeah, it's like they rummaged through my brain and designed everything for me! Going to watch it again to jot down some ideas!

Oh, and don’t forget the Pantone color for 2018 is Ultra Violet. Don't get it confused with Purple #2 which Pantone named as a tribute to Prince. I lived in Minneapolis but not at the time he owned a couple of clubs downtown, a little before my time. Nevertheless, I loved his creativity, confidence and wry sense of humor. He will be missed.
